Dr. Sameera Dharmasena is a distinguished insurance professional with over 20 years of experience in the Sri Lankan insurance industry. He plays a pivotal role in advancing professionalism, education, and innovation within the sector.

Dr. Dharmasena began his career at Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC) and has since held senior leadership roles across the sector in several Insurance companies which are subsidiaries of the largest conglomerates in Sri Lanka. He posses multinational Exposure during his tenner at Allianz Life Insurance Lanka which he worked before he joined with Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Ltd. He was elected as the president of Sri Lanka Insurance Institute the only Insurance Education body in Sri Lanka affiliated with charted insurance Institute in UK.

Mr. Asiri Wickramarachchi is a highly qualified and experienced professional in the insurance industry, with over 18 years of diverse experience across both multinational and local insurance companies. His expertise spans key technical areas, including Underwriting, Claims, and Reinsurance, empowering him to drive strategic advancements within the sector.

In 2011, Asiri earned the Associateship (ACII) and "Chartered Insurer" status from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), UK. He is recognised as the youngest individual from Sri Lanka to achieve this prestigious qualification. His exceptional achievement was further celebrated when he received the “Most Outstanding Student Award” at the 2012 Insurance Congress in Colombo, an honour presented to the highest-performing ACII-qualified individual for the year 2011.

Building on this strong foundation, Asiri later attained the Fellowship (FCII) qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute - UK, the highest level of professional recognition in the field of insurance.

Before assuming his current role as Chief Officer - General Insurance at Sri Lanka Insurance General Ltd., Asiri served as Chief Operating Officer - Technical at Continental Insurance Lanka Ltd., where he spearheaded various operational and technical functions to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.

Mr. Sanjaya Attanayake is the Chief Business Officer of Sri Lanka Insurance General, an insurance professional with over 33 years of extensive experience across property underwriting, sales, sales management, and key account management. He has demonstrated expertise in establishing and expanding distribution networks, leading recruitment strategies, and driving business growth in both local and multinational insurance companies. Prior to his current role, he served as the Head of Corporate and Personal Lines, where his performance delivery led to his promotion as Chief Operating Officer.

He has a proven track record in building high-performing insurance sales teams, cultivating strong corporate relationships, and leading initiatives that enhance market positioning. His previous experience includes Union Assurance and Fairfirst Insurance (1992–2019), followed by LOLC General Insurance (2019–2025).

She brings over 20 years of professional experience, including 15 years in senior management, across leading local, multinational, and international organizations. Her career includes senior leadership roles such as Marketing Director and Director – Market Development & Exports at Hemas Consumer Brands, Chief Executive Officer at Stassen Foods, and Director – Marketing & Modern Trade at Bellose Lanka.

Mr. Gihan Suwaris is the Deputy General Manager – Human Resources at Sri Lanka Insurance General, where he leads the organization’s overall human resource function.

He brings extensive experience across strategic and transactional people management, corporate strategy formulation, organizational design and development, and talent management, having made significant contributions to leading organizations including MAS Holdings, Verger Naturals, and Nations Trust Bank. He also serves as a visiting lecturer in Leadership, Management, and Human Resources at both state and private universities.

Beyond his professional career, Mr. Suwaris is a former national squash athlete and captain, having represented Sri Lanka at the World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games, and winning two bronze medals at the South Asian Games. He is an internationally certified coach, a WSF-certified tutor, and currently coaches the Sri Lankan national squash team.
